To Know the Word (logos)

1.    The Word is the God who exists in the beginning (1:1-2).

2.    The Word became flesh (1:14).

3.    The Word is in the Scripture and the words that Jesus has spoken (2:22; 4:41,50; 5:24; 12:38; 15:25; 18:9,32; 21:23)

4.    The Word is true (4:37).

5.    The Word exists in the witness that men bear of the Lord and the words that men say about the Lord (4:39; 17:20).

6.    The Word abides in men because of men¡¦s believing (5:38).

7.    The Word is hard sometimes (6:60; 7:36, 40; 10:19).

8.    He who keeps the word of the Lord is the disciple of the Lord (8:31, 51; 10:35; 17:6, 14).

9.    He who can not hear the word of the Lord is the enemy of the Lord (8:37, 43).

10.  The word shall judge men in the last day (12:48).

11.  He who keeps the word of the Lord must be loved by the Lord (14:23)¡C

12.  The word of the Lord is the word of the Father (14:24).

13.  The word purifies men (15:3).

14.  Believers should remember the word of the Lord (15:20).

15.  The word is the truth (17:17).

16.  The word remains in the words of the law (19:7-8).

 

The Divinity of Jesus

I.     His Ubiquity ---- Who Is Not Restricted by Space:

1.    He is with God (1:1-2).

2.    He is in the place where true believes stay (1:47-48).

3.    He came down out of heaven, and is in heaven (3:13).

4.    He is in the believers (6:56; 14:20; 15:4).

5.    He is in the place where believers are assembled (20:19, 26).

 

II.    His Omniscience ---- Who Is Not Restricted by Time:

1.  He knows what is in men (1:47; 2:24-25; 5:42; 6:64; 8:37; 13:11).

2.  He knows all things men have ever done (4:18, 29).

3.  He can prophesy things in the future (13:19; 14:29; 16:1-4, 33; 21:18-19).

 

III.   His Omnipotence ---- Who Is Not Restricted by Anything:

1.  He creates all things (1:3). He calls the things which are not as they were (21:9).

2.  His power of transformation (2:1-11; 6:4-11).

3.  His power of healing (4:46-54; 5:2-9; 9:1-7).

4.  His power of resurrection (11:17-44).

5.  His power of super-nature (6:16-21).

 

The Deity of Jesus

1.    The Word is God (1:1).

2.    The Word became flesh and has declared God (1:14, 18; 12:45; 14:9).

3.    He is sent by the Father and walks on the earth on behalf of God (5:17-26).

4.    He, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, exists from eternity to eternity (8:24, 28, 58; 13:19; 18:5-6).

5.    He and the Father are one (10:30).

6.    He is equal with God (10:33; 12:45; 14:1, 26; 17:10).

 

The Divine Authority of Jesus

1.    All things and the world received being through him (1:3,10).

2.    God has given all things in his hand (3:35; 13:3).

3.    The Father gives the Son the right of judgment (5:27).

4.    The power of life is in His hand. He has power to lay it down, and has power to take it again (10:18).

5.    The Father has given the Son authority over all flesh, that all that the Father has given to him, the Son should give them life eternal (17:2).

 

To Know the Life

1.    Life is in Christ, and the life is the light of man (1:4).

2.    He who believes the Son has life. This life is life eternal (3:15-16, 36).

3.    There is living water in this life that one may not be thirst, and fruit that one shall be full (4:14, 36).

4.    He who has life eternal shall not come into judgment, but is passed out of death into life (5:24).

5.    As the Father has life in himself, so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself (5:26).

6.    There is life in the word of God (the Scripture), for it bears witness of Christ (5:39).

7.    One should come to Christ when he is reading the Scripture that he might have life (5:40).

8.    Work not the food which perishes, but the food which abides unto life eternal (6:27).

9.    Christ is the bread of life: he that comes to Him shall never hunger, and he that believes on Him shall never thirst at any time (6:35, 47-48, 51).

10.  Unless one shall have eaten the flesh of the Son of man, and drunk his blood, he has no life in himself (6:53-54).

11.  The words which the Lord has spoken to us are spirit and are life (6:63).

12.  Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of life eternal (6:68).

13.  He who follows Christ shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (8:12).

14.  I am come that they might have life, and might have abundantly (10:10).

15.  Those who have the life given by the Lord shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of the Lord¡¦s hand (10:28).

16.  Christ is the resurrection. Christ is the life (11:25).

17.  He that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal (12:25).

18.  The commandment of the Father is life eternal (12:50)

19.  Jesus says, I am the way, and the truth, and the life (14:6).

20.  He gives life eternal to all that He has given to the Son (17:2).

21.  This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (17:3).

22.  He who believes that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God may have life in his name (20:31).

 

To Know the Light

1.     Light is the function of life (1:4).

2.     The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness does not receive the light (1:5).

3.     That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world (1:9).

4.     For every one that does evil hates the light and does not come to the light (3:19-20).

5.     But he that practices the truth comes to the light, that his works may be manifested that they have been done in God (3:21).

6.     He who follows Christ shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (8:12).

7.     The Lord is the light of the world (9:5).

8.     If any one walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if any one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him (11:9-10).

9.     While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light (12:35-36).

10.  Jesus says, I am come into the world light, that every one that believes on me may not abide in darkness (12:46).

 

To Know the World

1.    The world had being through him, and the world did not know Him (1:10).

2.    He who comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world (6:33).

3.    Jesus says, I am the light of the world (8:12).

4.    Men in the world are of this world, but the Lord is not of this world (8:23).

5.    Jesus said, For judgment am I come into this world (9:39).

6.    The Lord is the One who should come into the world (11:27).

7.    He that hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal (12:25).

8.    Now is judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out (12:31).

9.    The Lord is not come that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world (12:47).

10.  The ruler of the world has nothing in the Lord (14:30).

11.  If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because we are not of the world, on account of this the world hates you (15:19).

12.  The ruler of this world is judged (16:11).

13.  Believers have peace in the Lord. In the world they have tribulation. But be of good courage: the Lord has overcome the world (16:33).

14.  The Lord does not demand that the Father should take them out of the world, but that He should keep us out of evil (17:15).

15.  Believers are not of the world, as the Lord is not of the world (17:16).

16.  As the Father has sent the Lord into the world, the Lord has also sent us into the world (17:18).

17.  The Lord¡¦s kingdom is not from the world (18:36).

 

To Know ¡§Believe¡¨

I.   The Significance of Believing ---- as many as received him, to those that believe on his name (1:12)

II.The Effect of Believing:

1.    To those who believe Him, the Lord gave them right to be children of God (1:12)

2.    Every one who believes on him may have life eternal (3:15).

3.    They that believed on him were to receive the Holy Spirit (7:39).

4.    He that believes on me, though he has died, shall live (11:25).

5.    He who believes on the light may become sons of light (12:36).

6.    He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also. And greater works than these shall he do (14:12).

III.    The Cause of Believing:

1.    Because of the witnesses of believers ---- many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him because of the word of the woman who bore witness (4:39; 12:11).

2.    Because of the word of the Lord ---- more a great deal believed on account of the Lord¡¦s word (4:41, 50).

3.    Because of seeking the glory of God ---- How can one believe if he does not seek the glory which from God alone (5:44)?

IV.   The Content of Believing ---- that Jesus is Christ and the Son of God (11:27; 20:31).

V.    The True Believing ---- blessed those who have not seen and have believed (20:29).

 

The Status of Believers

1.  The Children of God (1:12)

2.  The disciples (2:2; 13:35)

3.  Those who believe Him (3:15, 16)

4.  Those who walk in truth (3:21)

5.  The bride (3:29)

6.  he that sows and he that reaps (4:36)

7.  The sheep of the Lord (10:3)

8.  Those whom the Lord loves (11:3,5; 13:1)

9.  The people of God (11:53)

10.  The Sons of light (12:36)

11.  The servants and he who has sent them (13:16)

12.  The branches of the true vine (15:5)

13.  The friends of the Lord (15:14)

14.  The men whom the Father gives the Lord out of the world (17:6)

15.  Children (21:5)

 

Three Stages of Christians¡¦ Growth

I.    The Stage that They Have Grown up in Life (chap 1-7):

1.         They have been born of God (1:13).

2.         Except any one be born anew he cannot see the kingdom of God (3:3).

3.         He that believes on the Son has life eternal (3:36).

4.         Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life (6:35).

5.         The words which I have spoken unto you are spirit and are life (6:63).

6.         He that believes on me shall flow rivers of living water out of his belly (7:38).

II.   The Stage that They Have Walked in Light (chap 8-12):

1.  Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (8:12).

2.  He went therefore and washed, and came seeing (9:7).

3.  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (10:27).

4.  If a man walks in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this world (11:9).

5.  I am come into the world light, that every one that believes on me may not abide in darkness (12:46).

III.  The Stage that They Are Perfected in Love (chap 13-21):

1.     Having loved His own that were in the world, He loved them unto the end (13:1).

2.    By this shall all know that you are disciples of Mine, if you have love among yourselves (13:35).

3.    He that has My commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves Me. But he that loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him (14:21-22).

4.    As the Father has loved me, I also have loved you: abide in my love (15:9).

5.    And I have made known to them your name, and will make known. That the love with which you have loved me may be in them and I in them (17:26).

6.    Because of the love of Mary Magdalene toward the Lord, the risen Lord could not but manifest Himself to her before His ascension (20:11-18).

7.    The Lord thrice asked Peter, do you love Me? And then He entrusted His sheep to Peter (21:15-17).

 

To Know the Truth

1.    The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth (1:14).

2.    Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ (1:17).

3.    But he that practices the truth comes to the light, that his works may be manifested that they have been done in God (3:21).

4.    The true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth (4:23-24).

5.    John the Baptist has borne witness to the truth (5:33).

6.    The true disciples shall know the truth, and the truth shall set us free (8:32).

7.    The Lord has spoken the truth to us, which He has heard from God (8:40, 45-46).

8.    The devil does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him (8:44).

9.    Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life (14:6).

10.  The Comforter is the spirit of the truth (14:16-17; 15:26).

11.  The Spirit of truth shall guide us into all the truth (16:13).

12.  God sanctifies us by the truth, and His word is truth (17:17, 19).

13.  The Lord has come into the world for the truth, that He might bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears the Lord¡¦s voice (18:37).

14.  Men of the world do not understand the truth (18:38).

 

To See the Book of John From the Book of Psalms, Chapter 23

1.    Jehovah is my shepherd ---- who became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth (1:14)

2.    I shall not want ---- who turned water to wine (2:1-11).

3.    He makes me to lie down in green pastures ---- we will not fear the wrath of God (3:36).

4.    He leads me beside still waters ---- those who drink He gives shall never thirst (4:14).

5.    He restores my soul ---- a man who had been suffering under his infirmity thirty and eight years took up his couch and walked (5:2-9).

6.    He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake ---- Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of life eternal (6:68).

7.    Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death ---- Is not this he whom they seek to kill? (7:25)

8.    I will fear no evil ---- If the Son shall set you free, you shall be really free (8:36).

9.    For you are with me ---- the blind man was cast out by them, but the Lord took him up (9:35-38).

10.  Your rod ---- no one shall seize them out of my hand (10:28).

11.  Your staff ---- if any one walk in the day, he does not stumble (11:9).

12.  They comfort me ---- there came a voice out of heaven (12:28).

13.  In the presence of mine enemies ---- Jesus knew him that delivered him up (13:11).

14.  You prepare a table before me ---- and whatsoever you shall ask in my name, this will I do (14:13).

15.  You has anointed my head with oil ---- and your joy be full (15:11).

16.  My cup runs over ---- when the Spirit of truth is come, he shall guide you into all the truth (16:13).

17.  All the days of my life ---- Holy Father, keep them in your name which you have given me (17:11).

18.  Surely, goodness ---- those whom you have given me, I have not lost one of them (18:9).

19.  And loving-kindness shall follow me ---- the Lord even arranged the future life for His mother before His death (19:26-27).

20.  And I will dwell in the house of Jehovah ---- my Father and your Father, and my God and your God (20:17).

21.  For the length of the days ---- until I come (21:22-23).

 

The Ministry of Jesus on the Earth

I.    He is the Priest

1.  The lamb that bore sins ---- behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world (1:29, 36).

2.  The sacrificial oblation ---- the Son of man be lifted up (3:14; 8:28; 10:15, 17-18; 12:32; 19:17-18).

3.  The intercessory patron ---- I will demand of the Father for you (16:26; 17:9).

II.   He is the Prophet

1. To speak in the name of God ---- for he whom God has sent speaks the words of God (3:34; 7:16).

2.  To prophesy the future ---- I tell you now before it happens, that when it happens you may believe (13:19; 14:29).

3.  To reveal the will of God ---- I know that Messiah is coming. When comes he will tell us all things (4:25-26).

III.  He is The King

1.  He is confessed by men ---- you are the king of Israel (1:49); JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS (19:19).

2.  He reigns and exercises His authority ---- neither does the Father judge any one, but has given all judgment to the Son (5:22, 27, 30).

3.  He declares that He is the King ---- you say that I am a king. I have been born for this (18:37).

 

To Know the Holy Spirit

1.   The Holy Spirit is like a dove (1:32) ---- gentle and single-minded

2.   The Holy Spirit bears witness that Jesus is the Son of God (1:33-34).

3.   Except any one be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (3:5).

4.   That which is born of the Spirit is spirit (3:6).

5.   Men only know the Holy Spirit is working, but do not know how the Holy Spirit works (3:8).

6.   God does not give the Spirit by measure (3:34).

7.   God a spirit. And they who worship him must worship in spirit and truth (4:23-24).

8.   The words which I have spoken to you are spirit and are life (6:63).

9.   He that believes on me shall flow rivers of living water out of his belly. But this he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive (7:38-39).

10.  The Spirit of truth is the Comforter, who abides with the disciples and shall be in disciples (14:16-17).

11.  The Comforter shall teach the disciples all things, and bring to them remembrance all that the Lord said to them (14:26).

12.  The Spirit shall bear witness concerning Christ (15:26).

13.  The Comforter will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment (16:7-11).

14.  The Spirit of truth shall guide believers into all the truth (16:13).

15.  The Lord breathed into the disciples after His resurrection, and said to them: ¡§Receive Holy Spirit¡¨ (20:22).

 

To Learn the Personal Evangelism From the Book of John

1.   The teacher preached the glad tidings to the students (1:35-37).

2.   One family member preached the glad tidings to another family member (1:40-42).

3.   To preach the glad tidings to passersby (1:43)

4.   Friends preached the glad tidings to friends (1:45-46)

5.   Men shall preach the glad tidings in any time and at any place (4:5-6).

6.   Men shall preach the glad tidings to anyone (4:7-9).

7.   Men shall preach the glad tidings through any topic (4:7-26)

 

How to Bear Witness of the Lord?

1.    Andrew (1:41) ---- who started from his relatives

2.    Philip (1:45-46) ---- who led men to experience Christ personally.

3.    The woman of Samaria (4:28-30) ---- who did not hide her shameful story in the past.

4.    The noble man (4:51-53) ---- who brought his family to believe the Lord.

5.    The man who had been suffering under his infirmity thirty and eight years was healed (5:13-15) ---- who immediately told others.

6.    Nicodemus (7:47-51) ---- who reasoned rationally.

7.    The man blind from birth was healed (9:30-33) ---- who declared his personal experience.

8.    Lazarus (11:44-45; 12:9-11) ---- who displayed the fact of resurrection.

 

He Was Tempted in All Things

1.    Be despised ---- Can anything good come out of Nazareth? (1:46; 4:44)

2.    Be worried ---- The zeal of thy house devours me (2:17).

3.    Be wearied ---- Jesus was wearied with the way he had come (4:6).

4.    Be thirst ---- Jesus says to the woman of Samaria, Give me to drink (4:7; 19:28).

5.    Be hungry ---- The disciples asked Jesus saying, Rabbi, eat (4:31).

6.    Be persecuted ---- The Jews persecuted Jesus (5:16; 15:20).

7.    Be rejected ---- From that many of his disciples went away back and walked no more with him (6:66).

8.    Be betrayed ---- Judas, being one of the twelve, was about to deliver Jesus up (6:71; 13:2, 18).

9.    Be hated ---- The world cannot hate you, but me it hates (7:7; 15:18, 25).

10. Be accused ---- But this they said proving him, that they might have to accuse him (8:6).

11. Be blasphemed ---- You are a Samaritan and has a demon (8:48; 10:20).

12. Be attacked ---- They took up therefore stones that they might cast at Him (8:59).

13. Be misunderstood ---- Lord, if you had been here, my brother had not died (11:21, 32).

14. Had groaned ---- Jesus was deeply moved in spirit (11:33, 38).

15. Had wept ---- Jesus wept (11:35).

16. Be troubled ---- Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit (13:21; 11:33).

17. Be alone ---- You shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone (16:32).

18. Be bound ---- The officers of the Jews took Jesus and bound him (18:12, 24).

19. Be denied ---- Peter denied Him (18:17-18, 25-27).

20. Be slapped ---- But as he said these things, one of the officers who stood by gave a blow on the face to Jesus (18:22; 19:3).

21. Be scourged ---- Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged (19:1).

22. The crown of thorns ---- The soldiers having plaited a crown of thorns put it on his head (19:2, 5).

23. Be teased ---- The soldiers put a purple robe on him (19:2, 5).

24. Bore His cross ---- Jesus went out, bearing His cross (19:17).

25. Be crucified ---- Where they crucified him (19:18).

26. His garments were parted ---- They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots (19:23-24).

27. Be mocked ---- Having filled a sponge with vinegar, and putting hyssop round it, they put it up to his mouth (19:29; see Luke 23:36).

28. Be pierced ---- But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water (19:34).

 

Every Chapter of This Book Manifests the Divinity of Jesus

1.    Nathanael confessed: ¡§you are the Son of God¡¨ (1:49).

2.    The sign of changing water to wine: ¡§manifested his glory¡¨ (2:11).

3.    ¡§He who believes the Son has life eternal¡¨ (3:36).

4.    Jesus says to her, I who speak to you am ---- the Messiah (4:26).

5.    But also said that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God (5:18).

6.    Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of life eternal (6:68).

7.    This he said concerning the Spirit, which they that believed on him were about to receive (7:39).

8.    Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am (8:58).

9.    And Jesus said to him, You has both seen him, and he that speaks with you is he (9:37).

10.  I and the Father are one (10:30).

11.  Yea, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God (11:27).

12.  But Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me does not believe on me, but on him that sent me (12:44).

13.  You call me the Teacher and the Lord, and you say well, for I am (13:13).

14.  He that has seen me has seen the Father (14:9).

15.  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father (15:26).

16.  All things that the Father has are mine (16:15).

17.  That they may be all one, as you, Father, in me, and I in you (17:21).

18.  Jesus answered, you say, that I am a king. I have been born for this (18:37).

Jesus ¡§Most assuredly Says to You¡¨

1.    Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man (1:51).

2.    Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (3:3).

3.    Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (3:5).

4.    Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness (3:11).

5.    Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner (5:19).

6.    Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life (5:24).

7.    Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. (5:25).

8.    Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled (6:26).

9.    Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. (6:32).

10. Most assuredly, I say to you, He that believes on me has everlasting life (6:47).

11. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you (6:53).

12. Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. (8:34).

13. Most assuredly, I say to you, If any one shall keep my word, he shall never see death (8:51).

14. Most assuredly, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am (8:58).

15. Most assuredly, I say to you, He that does not enter in by the door to the fold of the sheep, but mounts up elsewhere, is a thief and a robber (10:1).

16. Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep (10:7).

17. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. (12:24).

3.    Man shall have the Lord¡¦s words that abide in him ---- If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall come to pass to you (15:7).

4.    Man shall bear more fruit ---- I have set you that you should go and you should bear fruit, and your fruit should abide, that whatever you shall ask the Father in my name he may give you (15:16).

5.    Man shall ask the Father directly ---- Whatever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give you. Ask, and you shall receive (16:23-24).

 

Jesus ---- the Example of the Servant of God

1.    Who keeps the will of God and does the work of God ---- do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work (4:34).

2.    Who works diligently ---- Jesus answered, My Father has been working until now, and I have been working (5:17).

3.    Who works according to the way of God¡¦s working ---- Jesus said to them, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner (5:19, 30).

4.    Who does what God has entrusted to Him ---- for the works which the Father has given Me to finish--the very works that I do (5:36).

5.    Who seeks the word of God ---- Jesus said, My doctrine is not mine, but of him that has sent me (7:16; 8:26).

6.    Who does not walk in Him ---- Jesus said, I do nothing of Myself. I always do those things that please Him (8:28-29).

7.    Who spoke according to what had heard and seen from God ---- I speak what I have seen with My Father (8:38, 40).

Jesus is equal with God

1.    If one honors Jesus, he will honor God ---- one should honor the Son just as they honor the Father (5:23).

2.    If one knows Jesus, he will know God ---- If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also (8:19).

3.    If one has believed Jesus, he will believe God ---- But Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me (12:44).

2.    One shall believe the Scripture ---- if you do not believe the writings of Moses, how will you believe My words? (5:47)

3.    One shall desire to keep it ---- If any one desire to practice his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is of God (7:17)

4.    One shall seek the spirit and life in the words ---- The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (6:63).

5.    One shall rely on the teaching of the Spirit ---- the Spirit shall teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance all the things which I have said to you (14:26).

6.    One shall abide in the Lord ---- If you abide in me, and my words abide in you (15:7).

7.    One shall follow the guidance of the Spirit ---- the Spirit of truth shall guide you into all the truth (16:13).
